In manufacturing and process control, we have become all too familiar with the complexity that characterizes our systems. The same could be said of our organizations, management structure, or even market analysis. Despite the best efforts to plan for every contingency, often the outcome of our efforts is based on the interaction of seemingly small and unrelated events. Complexity science specifically addresses these issues.
The Santa Fe Conference
This year, visionaries in process control and manufacturing will be gathering in Santa Fe, New Mexico for the 7th Annual Chaos in Manufacturing Conference hosted by R. Morley Inc. The conference will be conducted in a relaxed atmosphere, allowing ample time to network with others who are pioneering and applying these techniques. Presentations and workshops are cross-disciplinary, drawing on work being done in related areas such as social system behavior, economics, and biology to demonstrate how results in these areas can be applied to meet the needs of industry.
The four-day seminar will consist of a mix of lectures and workshops, with a tutorial offered on the first day. Participation includes a hearty lunch and evening events designed to facilitate networking with both fellow attendees and presenters.
